Mango – Our beloved Streety

Mango, a beloved indie dog from our street, was always known for his cheerful energy, wagging tail, and friendly spirit. One day, everything changed when he was run over by a truck, leaving him with devastating injuries—his intestines exposed and his body severely damaged. The situation was so critical that the doctors initially said there was no hope for survival. But giving up on him never felt like an option. My mother, a few friends, and I came together, raising funds and doing everything we could to give Mango a fighting chance.

What followed was an incredibly long and difficult journey—seven surgeries, constant care, and moments of uncertainty. Through it all, Mango showed remarkable resilience, holding on with quiet strength. Today, against all odds, he is back where he belongs—on his street, alive, healing, and a true symbol of hope,
compassion, and the power of not giving up.

Leo, a gentle English Golden Retriever, was once a pet dog in our street, bought by a couple who seemed to care for him. But when they decided to move abroad, they left him behind at a nearby brick factory, asking the owner to look after him temporarily. They promised they would return in a few months to take him back—but they never did. From that moment on, Leo quietly adapted to a new life, living in and around the factory.

Despite being abandoned, he remained incredibly loving, greeting all of us every day with a wagging tail and1 hopeful eyes. One day, we noticed a change—Leo seemed unusually dull and weak. Concerned, we took him to the vet, where he was diagnosed with a severe case of tick fever. What followed was a collective effort—my friends and I came together to ensure he received proper treatment, nutritious food, and his medicines on time. Slowly, over the course of a few months, Leo began to recover, returning to his affectionate and lively self. However, the doctor warned us that if Leo continued living outdoors, he could easily fall sick again.

We knew he deserved better—a safe and loving home. So, we decided to put him up for adoption. After some time, a kind family came to meet him. They were immediately drawn to his warm nature and gentle personality. It didn’t take long for them to fall in love with him. Today, Leo lives with that family, finally
receiving the care, comfort, and love he always deserved. His journey—from abandonment to belonging—is a reminder of how second chances can truly change a life.
